Rutherford County Mayor Ernest Burgess told WGNS listeners, "Much can be accomplished if several work together." He is working with Franklin's mayor to host this Sunday's FARM TO TABLE dinner at the Grove at Williamson Place, across from the Avenue.

In addition to the delicious farm to table cuisine, the evening honors four individuals who have made a significant contribution to the strategic preservation of farms and green space in the region.

  • John L. Batey, Murfreesboro
  • Geraldine (Jerry) DeMent, Murfreesboro
  • Julian Bibb, Franklin
  • Julius Johnson, Columbia

The $150 per person dinner was sold-out long before the event. Proceeds benefit the area's Cumberland Region Tomorrow, better known as CRT.

The ten counties that make-up the Cumberland Region, are working together in the areas of public transportation, environmental programs, uniting to attract selected businesses, and other projects that would have a positive impact on the area.

The 10 CRT counties include Cheatham, Davidson, Dickson, Maury, Montgomery, Robertson, Rutherford, Sumner, Williamson and Wilson.

County Mayor Burgess will be on WGNS this coming Wednesday (6/28/2017) morning at 8:10AM, and will share more information about Cumberland Region Tomorrow (CRT).
