11th Annual "The Middle Half" Tremendous!

Temps were in the low 70s when the 11th Annual Middle Half Marathon began on Greenland Drive Saturday morning, next to the Dean Hayes Track and Soccer Stadium. Almost 3,000 athletes participated. The wheelchair race began at 6:55AM and the runners left at 7:00 o'clock.

The first to cross the finish, was wheelchair athlete Jose Pulido of Clarkesville, Georgia. The 36-year old did it in 49 minutes and 47 seconds.

The first runner was 23-year old Nick French, whose time was 1 hour, 9 minutes, and 52 seconds.

The first female to cross was 23-year old Nick French Barbara Bell whose time was 1-hour, 16 minutes and 13 seconds. Both runners were from Nashville and each of the three athletes took home $500.
