An 18 year old woman told police that she was raped while spending the night with a friend. The rape was reported to have occurred at College Grove Apartments in Murfreesboro.

The victim told police that she was asleep after a night of drinking and smoking marijuana when she was awakened by two males who were also in the apartment touching her. The two men allegedly took the female to the bathroom, where the alleged rape continued.

The incident stopped after another female in the apartment went to the restroom. One of the men walked out stating, "Your friend is in there."

The case is under investigation by Murfreesboro Police.

According to the National Sexual Violence Resource Center, "One in 5 women and one in 16 men are sexually assaulted while in college. Rape is the most under-reported crime; 63% of sexual assaults are not reported to police. Only 12% of child sexual abuse is reported to the authorities. The prevalence of false reporting is between 2% and 10%."
