2,400 Bottles of whiskey seized, case closed
December 17, 2008
A man indicted in Moore County in January on charges that he illegally possessed up to $1 million worth of Jack Daniels whiskey, will not go to jail and will not pay a fine.
Moore County Circuit Judge Robert Crigler has signed-off on a pretrial diversion.
Randy Piper, 47, of Goodlettsville was the subject of a raid in October of 2007.
That raid resulted in the seizure of some 2,400 bottles. The diversion means that Piper will not serve any time, but he will be banned from selling alcohol for one year. The confiscated bottles are in the possession of the Alcoholic Beverage Commission, and it is possible that they will be sold at auction.
