Riverdale and Stewarts Creek girls join Blackman and Oakland boys in the District 7-AAA title games after the Saturday semifinal contests.

GIRLS
In girls, Riverdale used an 18-to-2 start to the second quarter to defeat Smyrna 81-46. Miss Basketball finalist Anastasia Hayes had 26 points in the win. Tyra Hughes led Smyrna with 14.

The Oakland girls cut the Stewarts Creek lead to two with just over six-minutes left in the game. However, the Lady Red Hawks outscored the Lady Patriots 16-to-4 the rest of the way enroute to a 60-46 win. Brianah Ferby led the Creek with 15 points. Maddie Cook had 12 for Oakland.

Oakland will battle Smyrna Monday at 6pm for third place in the consolation game while Riverdale battles Stewarts Creek at 7:30 in the championship.

BOYS
Riverdale boys, down by 15-points, knocked down six three's in the fourth in hopes of defeating rival Blackman. But the Blaze hit their free throws down the stretch in a 63-55 win. Trent Gibson and Brandon Thomas each had 14 for Blackman while Coby Grubbs chipped in 20 for Riverdale.

Oakland used a steady dose of offense with a stingy defense to hold off red hot Stewarts Creek. The Pats defeated the Red Hawks 64-51 by shooting 60-percent for the game. Oakland was led by Keishawn Davidson's 20-points. Stewarts Creek post Tyler Conley had 15.

Riverdale will take on Stewarts Creek for third place in the consolation game Tuesday while Blackman and Oakland will meet up for a rematch of last year's title game at 7:30pm.

All games are being played at Blackman High School.
