A home on Laurel Ledge Drive in La Vergne was totally destroyed by fire Saturday (4/14/2018) morning.

When firefighters arrived around 7:00 o'clock the house was totally involved and smoke was billowing from the roof. In fact, the smoke was so thick that it could be seen for miles.

All of the occupants in the 3 bedroom 1,600 square foot home were able to safely escape from the burning structure, and none of the firefighters were injured--despite the roof collapsing.

Laurel Ledge Drive is located in a subdivision near an industrial area that is between Waldron Road and I-24.

Officials with the La Vergne Fire Department have not released what caused the fire, and an investigation is underway.
