81-year old reported as missing HAS BEEN LOCATED

A Murfreesboro woman who was reported as MISSING on Wednesday morning has been safely located. WGNS previously reported that 81-year old Mary Melvania Carter went to a funeral at Woodfins in Murfreesboro around 6 p.m. Tuesday night and was later stopped by police in Lebanon for running a red light. Officers told her how to get back to Murfreesboro and she evidently ended up in Nashville. MPD Sgt. Kyle Evans said, "Ms. Carter was located this (Wednesday) morning at a family member’s house in Davidson County.  It is unclear when she arrived at the residence so an ambulance was called to check her status."

Sgt. Kyle Evans stated in an email, "Carter went to funeral at Woodfins in Murfreesboro around 6:00 last night.  She was later stopped by police in Lebanon for running a red light.According to the officer, she appeared normal and asked for directions back to Murfreesboro.  They advised her to hit I40w. She has not been seen or heard from since."
