Murfreesboro is loosing a friend. Peter D's American Southern Bistro will close its physical location on Medical Center Parkway in Murfreesboro this coming Wednesday (4/18/2018) and transition into a catering business.

The four-year-old upscale casual restaurant had no intention of closing its doors until McAlister's Deli recently proposed a leasing offer.

Peter D's and the Demos' Family of Restaurants owner Peter Demos said, "We were approached earlier this year by McAlister's Deli who were very interested in Peter D's location on Medical Center. We were not looking to close, but the offer came along that was too good not to accept."

He commented, "We want to say a heart-felt thank you to the community for your support and love of Peter D's over the past four years. It has been a God-inspired journey from start to finish, and we have been blessed to see God use this place in our staff and customer's lives as well as our own family's."

As part of the Demos' Family of Restaurants, all Peter D's employees are being transferred and given offers of employment at Demos' Restaurant in Murfreesboro. Despite the physical restaurant closing, Peter D's will retain its catering business and still offer the community an upscale catering experience with favorite Peter D' menu items.

"There is a possibility that we may open another Peter D's down the road, but we have no plans to do so right now," Demos said.

The Demos Family of Restaurants is choosing to focus their energies on their newest restaurant concept, PDK Southern Kitchen & Pantry. The fast-casual restaurant will open its first location this coming June in Bellevue, and it's second location in Mt. Juliet later this year.

First PDK Opens In June

PDK's menu was inspired by Peter D's cuisine and will offer some of Peter D's fan favorites such as hot chicken, D's reuben, and shrimp and grits. The casual eatery will also showcase an open pantry where local causes and social entrepreneurs will offer specialty products and gifts. Peter D's fans can enjoy eating at the restaurant's Medical Center location through this coming Wednesday. Peter D's gift cards and Doris Dollars may be redeemed at Demos' Restaurant, or customers may be reimbursed for Peter D's gift cards at Demos' Restaurant. Peter D's American Southern Bistro

Peter D's American Southern Bistro has served the Murfreesboro community since 2014. Owners Peter and Kristin Demos designed the restaurant to provide the community with a unique, upscale dining experience focusing on an assortment of southern cuisine and American favorites with an extensive wine selection.

The restaurant's humorous, casual atmosphere provided the backdrop to many date nights and evenings out with friends and family. Peter D's grew to be known for its Murfreesboro Hot Chicken, Rueben Fritters, and award-winning Banana Pudding.
