An accident involving a demolition contractor at Nissan in Smyrna was reported on Tuesday morning (3/21/17). Two workers were taken to the hospital after the incident with non-life threatening injuries. One was transported to StoneCrest while the other was taken to Vanderbilt Medical Center.

News Channel 5 reports that Nissan released the following statement:

"We are aware of the incident earlier today behind the Smyrna Vehicle Assembly Plant involving an equipment demolition contractor. Our thoughts and prayers are with the individuals, their families and the medical personnel caring for them. We are waiting to learn additional information as authorities investigate this incident."
