A traffic stop on South Maney Avenue in Murfreesboro involving a broken windshield and a passenger not wearing a seat belt, ended with two arrests and serious charges being filed by police.

Driver Joshua Keedy was said to be operating the car with a revoked license for failure to satisfy three prior "Driving on a Revoked License" convictions. The 32 year old also had an outstanding warrant for felony violation of probation.

During the stop, Keedy handed the arresting police officer a sunglasses case that contained a syringe, cotton balls, a bottle cap and a credit card. In the back of the car, police found another syringe, a bag of white powder and a digital scale. A backpack in the front of the car contained a burnt spoon and two "syringe type tubes."

Passenger Amanda Byrd pulled a gum wrapper out of her bra that contained a small amount of heroin. She then pulled a pill bottle out of her pants that contained four cotton balls of heroin "ready for resale," according to the police report.

Mr. Keedy later told authorities that the paraphernalia in the car was his and that he handed some of the items to Ms. Byrd to hide when pulled over. As a result, she was not arrested and only named in the report.

The officer who made the stop wrote, "Mr. Keedy also stated he had to cut the heroin with fiber powder because sometimes the people who buy it from him, there tolerance for heroin is not high and if he didn't cut it they may die."

Another subject in the car by the name of Michael Childress told police that he is a business partner of Mr. Keedy. However, Childress called it a "Drug dealing" business partner. He also told officers that he can sell a heroin loaded cotton ball in Nashville for $150.

Joshua Keedy was charged with driving on a revoked license for the 4th time, manufacturing or selling a schedule I drug, possession of drug paraphernalia and served warrants for violating his probation.

37 Year old Michael Childress was charged with manufacturing or selling a schedule I drug, possession of drug paraphernalia and criminal impersonation for allegedly lying to police about his identity.
