Amherst Drive Man Charged with Possession of Drugs, Firearms, Burglary & More

A 24-year old Amherst Drive man has been charged with various drug, firearm and burglary charges. Daniel Lee Williams was arrested Thursday night around 11:30 after Murfreesboro Police received a call of an armed subject near Jackson Heights Plaza on Northwest Broad.

Officer Palmer Gibbs was told by dispatch the subject was believed to have firearms in the trunk of the described vehicle. After patting down Williams, several illegal pills and drugs were found. When the vehicle, which belongs to his girlfriend, was searched, drug paraphernalia was found along with ammunition and a gun holster.

Since Williams was staying with his girlfriend on Jonquil Court, the home was searched. A rifle was found inside the closet along with a laptop reported stolen in the county and an iPad reported stolen from Oklahoma.

Williams faces many charges, including felony possession of schedule two, three and four drugs, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, drug paraphernalia, simple possession of a schedule six drug, possession of a prohibited weapon, aggravated burglary, theft over one-thousand dollars and two counts of violation of parole. He's being held at the Rutherford County Adult Detention Center on a $62,500 bond. Williams will be in General Sessions Court on February 3rd.
