Domestic violence and sexual assault remain social problems burdening our nation, our community, and our families. Domestic Violence & Sexual Assault Center is the only free service provider to victims in our community of Rutherford County seeking the healing and protective resources needed to overcome the trauma of personal violence.

"Our signature Tip Your Waiter is a sensational event that raises awareness and support for the work we do in the community," said Karen Lampert, Executive Director for the center. "We greatly appreciate our donors who are engaged with us to serve the community and have an impact in creating a safe, thriving community. We have a lot of exciting news to share about what is happening in the organization and what is ahead."

The event coordinators are thrilled to announce Bart Barker, Broadcast Journalist with WKRN News Channel 2 Nashville as this year's event emcee. Other local "Celebrity Hosts" include; Caty Davis, Miss Tennessee 2017, Mary Esther Reed, Mayor of Smyrna, and Jim McGuire, Middle Tennessee State University head baseball coach. Kelsey Keith, local singer-songwriter and Mix 92.9 Singing Star is providing the musical entertainment for the luncheon.

The Premier Sponsors for this year's Tip Your Waiter event are The Emergency Physicians at Saint Thomas Rutherford Hospital. Additional sponsors include; VIP Murfreesboro and Redstone Federal Credit at the Helping Hands level, and Murfreesboro Magazine and Dr. Elizabeth LaRoche with Mid TN Gyn. at the Purple level.

The event, thoughtfully set at the beginning of April to kick off National Sexual Assault Awareness Month, will be held at Stones River Country Club on Wednesday, April 4th, from 12 noon - 1:00 pm. Individual tickets are $50.00 and can be purchased online at www.dvpshelter.org/events. If you are interested in purchasing an entire table, contact the center's main office at (615) 896-7377.
