Secret Garden Week is one of the highlights of the summer social season in Middle Tennessee, and it returns June 1. The series of events--which allows participants to get sneak peeks at beautiful gardens hidden in backyards or behind walls or fences in and around Murfreesboro--also serves as a major fundraiser for the Discovery Center.

For this year's Secret Garden Party on June 1, the committee is planning a breezy Italian summer supper at the Georgetown home of Christy Fancher. Accentuated by the verdant views of the Stones River Country Club's golf course, the group is transforming Christy's backyard into a garden party that will remind guests of the Amalfi Coast. With guidance from Modern Vintage Events, party chairs Sarah Beth Clark and Katie Lane are planning a night to remember.

The Secret Garden Party will also include silent auction items for bidding. All proceeds benefit the Discovery Center.

From the backyards of amateur gardeners to professional landscaping projects, the tours on June 2 and 3 feature the horticultural talents of local residents. Tentative tour stops include Renee and Tim Demonbreum, Brett and Julia Neal, Nurture Nook, Quinn's Mercantile and the Discovery Center.

Maps of the Garden Tour stops - along with tickets for purchase - will be available at the Discovery Center and online at explorethedc.org/sgp.

Presenting Sponsors of Secret Garden Week are Adams Family Foundation; Nissan; Billie and Joe Little, MD; and Dr. Susan Andrews and Dr. Randall Rickard.
