The driver of the other car told police that a Ford F-150 slid through the intersection on University Street and ran into his vehicle, according to a recent police report. Murfreesboro officers were told the accident victim made contact with the driver and the subject “had an odor of intoxicant.” The man who reportedly smelled like booze then got back into his truck and drove away, according to the other party involved in the wreck.

Police were able to locate 49-year old Michael Price after running the tag number that was written down by the accident victim. In fact, all police had to do to find Michael Price was to pay a visit to his home and knock on the door. Price is the one who answered that knock.

Police say he admitted to his involvement in the wreck. Police also say he had slurred speech and glassy eyes. Price was eventually arrested and charged for the third time with DUI. He was taken to jail where police asked if he would submit to a blood test. He refused the test and a local judge had to approve a search warrant for the blood. After the warrant was approved, blood was drawn.

It was confirmed that Price had two prior DUI’s in 2008 and 2009. This arrest makes for number 3. He was also charged with “Leaving the Scene of an Accident.”

Price was booked under a $4,000 bond and later released. His court date is September 17, 2014.
