Add another name to the list of those seeking to replace State Senator Bill Ketron in Nashville. Murfreesboro resident Nicholas Gardner recently announced his intention to run.

In a press release from his campaign, Gardner said, "Rutherford County continues to be one of the fastest growing communities in Tennessee, and I believe that our community needs a senator who will work hard to understand and represent the needs of our growing county."

Rutherford County Mayor Ernest Burgess and State Representative Dawn White have also announced their intentions to seek the state senate seat. Ketron announced several months ago he would retire from the upper chamber in Nashville to seek the county mayor's position.
