The victim was sitting outside of an apartment on Lascassas Pike Sunday night around 10:30 when he was approached by a man armed with a pistol. The incident unfolded in the parking lot of the Dana Downs Town Homes.

According to the victim, he was sitting in his car when a man armed with a handgun came to his window demanding his phone and wallet. The victim told police his phone was not easily accessible, so he gave the armed subject his wallet. During the hold up a resident of a nearby apartment unit walked outside and the subject took off on foot, dropping the wallet near the victims car.

A witness in the area said they remember seeing a subject running through the area. Soon after, a police officer spotted a similar subject acting suspicious in the parking lot of Ashwood Cove Apartments.

The following morning around 2 AM on Monday, a suspect matching the description of the man who held up a subject late Sunday night was arrested at Ashwood Cove Apartments. When 19 year old Marquice S. Holloway saw police, he reportedly took off running. When police spotted Holloway, he was inside a car that was not his.

Officer Phillip Simpson chased the man on foot and eventually caught him. Holloway was quickly handcuffed and charged with the theft of a motor vehicle, theft under $500 and evading. Police transported Holloway to the police station where he was questioned. During questioning, officers observed the suspect put a pill in his mouth. The Benley Street man told police the pill capsule contained marijuana. Holloway was then charged with destruction of evidence.

The unemployed man will appear in court on July 13, 2016, according to a police report. As of mid-morning Tuesday, Holloway was still behind bars.
