Artwork from Local K-12th Graders on Display Now

The Center for the Arts is presenting the Rutherford County Schools Art Competition and Show. The show will run now through April 29th, 2016, with the announcement of prizes and opening reception on April 8th from 4:30 - 5:30 p.m., followed by the Boro Art Crawl event until 8:30 p.m. The exhibition is comprised of work by students from Kindergarten through 12th grade that was submitted by their art teachers. Following the exhibition, the winners' work will be moved to the MTSU Todd Art Gallery for display. The theme for the competition is Walking in My Shoes, which has spawned a large variety of interpretation by the students. Mediums used range from drawings to paintings to sculpture.

The gallery at the Center for the Arts is free and open to the public Tuesday through Friday - 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and is located in a historic building, one block off the square of Murfreesboro at 110 West College Street.
