An attempted robbery went haywire at 3015 S. Rutherford Boulevard on Wednesday. The victim told police he was sitting in his car at around 7:15 Wednesday night when two men opened his car door, one armed with a rust colored handgun. One of two robbers demanded the victim hand over his money. The victim advised he did not have any cash and the second culprit told the other to pistol whip the victim. The subject attempted to hit the victim but missed and hit the roof of the car dropping the gun on the ground.

A third subject appeared and told the other two they needed to leave out of fear of cameras. They grabbed the dropped gun and fled the scene on foot. The victim then called the police, but no arrests have been made at this point.
