Did you know cancer is the leading cause of death by disease in children in the United States?  Did you know each year in the United States approximately 13,500 children are diagnosed with cancer, that's more than a classroom of kids a day. Worldwide, a child is diagnosed every 3 minutes.

The Beehive Salon, in Murfreesboro Tennessee wants to see those numbers change. The salon will be hosting a Cut-a-Thon, benefiting BALD in the BORO,  a St.Baldrick's Foundation Fundraising Event.  St.Baldrick's  Foundation funds research to find not only a cure for childhood cancers but also ways to give survivors long, healthy lives.  The Beehive Salon has been a part of Murfreesboro's St.Baldrick's Event , Bald in the Boro, the past 4 years. Bald in the Boro is a head-shaving event where participants make a contribution to St. Baldrick’s Foundation in exchange for a shorn scalp. Tracy Tucker, owner of The Beehive Salon realized not everyone is willing to 'brave the shave'..... So, the idea for a cut-a- thon took flight!
