The Jesse C. Beesley Animal Foundation conducted its Annual Blessing of the Pets this past Saturday (8/12/2017), and it was a huge success.

Foundation Executive Director Amanda Oliver noted that the event was a combination "open house" where the public could learn more about their services, as well as a "blessing of pets". It was held at the Beesley Foundaton's office at 2215 Keeneland Commercial Boulevard.

Rev. Hinkle and Oliver are friends through the Murfreesboro Rotary Club, and they have been planning this event for several months.

Hinkle and his wife, Leila, have always had Springer Spaniels. In fact, they are active with the English Springer Rescue of America. He noted that as a result of that affiliation, the Hinkle's learned about the Beesley Foundation and that was when the conversation began about six-months ago to have a blessing of pets.

When quizzed about next year, Dr. Hinkle hoped that the blessing of pets and open house might be delayed until October, when the weather is a little cooler.
