Ben Weatherford Named City President

Longtime local banking leader, Ben Weatherford, named city president of Murfreesboro's FirstBank. He will operate out of their office at Memorial Boulevard. 

Weatherford is a Murfreesboro native with a strong family history in the banking industry. 

Third Largest Tennessee Bank

FirstBank is Tennessee's third largest bank with 44 offices across the state, and has assets over $2-billion. 

Reports indicate that this financial institution just completed its strongest financial year. In a different release, FirstBank officials indicated that the $50-million U.S. Department of Treasury loan was repaid. 

Well Capitalized Bank

FirstBank received $50 million on July 7, 2009, through its holding company, FirstSouth Bancorp Inc., during the depths of the national economic crisis. Although, FirstBank was impacted by the recession, it always met the regulatory definition of a well-capitalized bank and continues to do so.
