Students and parents at Bill Taylor’s School knew they wanted to do something to support their fellow aspiring martial artist, so they started selling T-shirts and accepting donations for Kobe’s family. Kobe’s parents just welcomed a baby boy this month while fighting daily alongside their eldest son as he fights this disease.
Bill Taylor Bushido School of Karate Office Manager Mary Kay Chisum recalls Kobe as a bright, kind student. “If you could just see his little face, always excited to learn,” Chisum says. “In the short period of time I got to know him, he was just the most loving, caring, sweet little boy. Community members who want to help the family can visit Bill Taylor’s Broad Street Dojo at 1820 N.W. Broad St. to purchase a T-shirt for $20. 100% of the proceeds will go toward Kobe’s family. Donations are also accepted.
