Blackman Beats Riverdale 48-21

Blackman downs rival Riverdale 48-21 to advance to a quarterfinal showdown with Oakland. Up 20-to-nothing, the Warriors score on a pass from quarterback Cortland Owens to Austin McGrone to cut the lead. But Blaze running back Charlie Davidson answered just over a minute later...

Bryan Barrett and Jon Dinkins with the call on NewsRadio WGNS. Davidson would score three touchdowns on the night and rack up 228 yards on 24 carries for the game. Mr. Football finalist and Blackman quarterback Jauan Jennings was 7-of-14 passing for 168 yards and two touchdowns in the win. The Blaze rolled up over 550-yards in total offense for the game.

The Warriors had 259-yards in total offense. Owens was the leading rusher with 40-yards on seven carries. He was 13-of-31 passing for 152-yards and two touchdowns. Riverdale's season ends in the second round with a 9-and-3 record.

Blackman will now turn its attention to the quarterfinal game next Friday night versus Oakland. They handed the Patriots their only loss of the year in Week 0, 28-21. It's a rematch of last year's quarterfinal game, which saw Blackman end Oakland's undefeated season 17-3. Bryan Barrett and Jon Dinkins will have the State Farm Quarterfinal game on NewsRadio WGNS next Friday night beginning at 6pm pregame. 7pm will be the kickoff at Blackman.
