Blackman would find the endzone just before halftime to take a 21-13 lead. In a driving, cold rain for much of the second half, it was the Blaze sophomore running back Jordan Brown who would find the endzone with 7:17 left in the third quarter:

Brown finished the game with 134-yards on 21-carries and scored two touchdowns.

Riverdale would score twice more after that last score by Blackman. But on 4th and inches, late in the game, trailing by two, the Blaze defensive front stopped the Warriors.

Blackman's win forces a three-way tie for second place in Region 3-6A with Riverdale and Cookeville. The Cavaliers won the tie breaker, with the Blaze seeded third and Riverdale fourth.

Blackman will travel to Hendersonville in the first round of the playoffs next Friday night. Riverdale goes to Mt. Juliet. That will be the game on NewsRadio WGNS. Lebanon will travel to region champion Oakland.
