The annual competition is held by the Universal Cheerleading Association (UCA) at Walt Disney World’s Wide World of Sports. After winning the TSSAA State Cheerleading Championship in November, the Blackman Coed Cheer squad traveled to Orlando on Wednesday, February 6th to defend the National title that they earned last year.

This team has had a year of overcoming HUGE obstacles, putting in many months of strenuous practices, and volunteering over 400 hours in its community.

Blackman High Coed consists of 27 cheerleaders coached by Heather Wortman and Courtney Gregory. These young men and women represented Tennessee, Murfreesboro, and Blackman High School well as they performed a beautifully choreographed routine that outshined all of the other teams in skill and difficulty.

The team will be welcomed home from Orlando by excited students and family at the Nashville airport Monday night, February 11th at 6:35 PM. (Southwest Airlines)
