The Blackman High School Event Planning class will be hosting a fashion show on November 19th from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.

The show will be held in the schools auditorium. The purpose of the event is to raise awareness and funds for the school's Blaze Buddies program. Blaze Buddies is an organization at BHS that encourages students to create one on one friendships between the general population and people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. It also enhances social and leadership skills for all involved. The cost of admission is $5.00, which includes refreshments at the end of the show. All proceeds from the fashion show will be donated to Blaze Buddies.

This is a collaborative event between Plato's Closet (local fashion retailer) and the BHS Event Planning class. It should be a win-win event, creating positive public relations for the retailer (while promoting their fall fashions), creating awareness and funds for Blaze Buddies, and giving the hosting class real-world experience at planning, organizing and implementing an event.

Blackman High School DECA members have volunteered to work on the day of the show, selling tickets, serving refreshments and assisting the models. Students in DECA and the Blaze Buddies organization will model in the show.
