Boat Fisherman Tried To Impress Woman With Tall Tale

Women might be impressed with a guy’s ability to pilot a boat, but a New York man is in trouble with the law for thinking his girlfriend would be impressed if he capsized his vessel. Police say Bryan Arquitt of Fair Haven, New York, called his girlfriend and told her he had capsized his boat while fishing on Lake Ontario. After two or three more calls describing his struggle, Arquitt told his girlfriend he was safe, but by then she had already called 911 and a rescue crew was on its was to save him. When authorities confronted Arquitt, he admitted making up the capsizing incident and confessed to making the calls to his girlfriend from the parking lot of a convenience store. He’s charged with falsely reporting an incident.
