Bonnaroo This Weekend…Then Barkaroo In November!

June 10, 2008

image Traffic along I-24 is expected to be heavy with Bonnaroo in neighboring Manchester this weekend.  Hopefully, the local constabularies are taking notes from the Bonnaroo men in blue and are preparing for the possible on-rush to the ‘Boro in five-months as Barkaroo descends on our city.  Murfreesboro Parks and Recreation Department’s Greenway Director Angella Jackson told the Murfreesboro Rotary Club that The Middle Tennessee Dog Festival will make its second appearance in the Bark Park.  For those who are not in the know, that is a special park for canines and it’s at the entrance to the General Bragg  Greenway Trailhead.   K.R. Kimberly and Company CEO Kim Honeycutt announced, "Purina seeks-out unique dog shows across the nation, and offers an upscale dog show as a part of the scheduled events.  They contact us about being in Barkaroo!"  That will be at 3:00 o’clock on Saturday afternoon, November 8th–but the Barkaroo fun is much more than that.  In fact, the barking begins at 10:00 that morning until 4:00 in the afternoon.  Honeycutt was quick to point out that the crowning of Mr. and Mrs. Barkaroo will not be deleted.  Nor will the canine-master "Look Alike Contest".  And of course, the ever popular DOG WALK will return to Barkaroo.  So if our Coffee County neighbors start bragging too much about Bonnaroo, we can always remind them of Barkaroo.  After all 78 per cent of Americans own pets, and the majority of those are dogs.  For more information, visit www.barkaroo.com
