(MURFREESBORO) The 'Boro Art Crawl is having a significant impact on visitors to Historic Downtown Murfreesboro. From 6:00 until 9:00 Friday evening (8/10/2018), the downtown square had families strolling and looking at artwork displayed in the uptown merchants.

Parking around the entire square was full, and as you circled--license plates showed all surrounding counties as well as numerous from distant parts of Tennessee as well as other states.

Live music echoed off the historic walls from one side of the Murfreesboro square to the other. There was country on one side, you could hear a keyboard player with Christian music on another, and the sound of Middle East drums on another--complete with belly dancers.

It also enabled downtown businesses to display what their stores are all about and offer food to enjoy while shopping and browsing. There were still several merchants who chose to be closed. It's a shame that the families seen cupping their hands and looking into dark windows didn't have an opportunity to discover what that retailer offered.

THANK YOU for all who were open. It was a fun experience!
