The basic structure of the Bridge Over Broad project is visibly taking shape. Be aware that the lanes of travel through that intersection are shifting in both the Broad Street directions as well as the Old Fort Parkway-Memorial Boulevard section. In fact, the Tennessee Department of Transportation reports that the "shift in lanes" will continue now until the total project is completed this coming December.

The Bridge Over Broad project started in January, 2014. The project will create a new bridge that connects Memorial Boulevard with the Old Fort Parkway and allows that traffic to smootlly flow over Northwest Broad Street without stopping. Likewise, Broad Street will not have to stop at what was once known as the "state's busiest intersection".

Once completed, the Bridge Over Broad project is estimated to cost $17.6 million.
