BSB: Riverdale Forces Two Games, Falls Short of Championship Game

Riverdale won one game to force a winner take all bracket championship with Farragut. The Warriors shut out the Admirals in game one 4-nothing, but fell 3-2 in the if necessary game at Siegel Thursday. Charlie Fultz, who was the winning pitcher in Wednesday's 8-7 win over Ravenwood, pitched seven innings and shut out Farragut to force the second game. He won two of Riverdale's five games in the Spring Fling State Championships. In the second game, Farragut scored three runs in the fourth inning on the Warrior's Jordan McNeal and despite scoring two runs in the top of the fifth, never threatened again. Riverdale ends the year at 32-and-11 and have been in the state's final four in Triple-A baseball the last three years.
