You'll hear a new voice on WGNS this fall during Middle Tennessee football broadcasts. Dennis Burke, a former linebacker for the Blue Raiders, will join Chip Walters on the Blue Raider Network as analyst and color commentator. Burke replaces Kelly Holcomb who stepped down from the position this past spring.

"Doing the games with Kelly the last five years was a dream come true," added Walters. "Something we had talked about for years. He's one of the most incredible dads I know and will be dedicating more time to Lori and the kids. We are very fortunate to have someone the caliber of Dennis to come in and fill those big shoes. Dennis has been an extremely loyal and vocal supporter since his playing days. He will bring a different and fresh perspective to our broadcasts. He is certainly knowledgeable of the game and can easily relate that to the listener. Finally, there's no doubt he's True Blue."

Burke, a three-year starter, lettered from 2002 to 2005 and played in 41 games and earned 23 starts. The Marietta, Ga., native finished with 158 total tackles, 15 tackles for loss, and three interceptions while playing on Blue Raider teams that defeated Vanderbilt in 2002 and again in 2005. In 2004, Sporting News ranked him the 18th best outside linebacker in the nation.

During his career, Burke was on teams who played Alabama (twice), Tennessee, Kentucky, Vanderbilt (twice), Georgia, Clemson, Missouri, Florida, and N.C. State.

"To re-enter into something that played such a significant role in making me the person I am today, and being part of what is so dear to me and my family, goes beyond what words can describe," said Burke. "I look forward to working alongside those that I looked up to for so many years as a player and fan. It's a great feeling to be an integral part of the Blue Raider family."

Burke, a 2007 Middle Tennessee graduate, is currently an insurance agent with Liberty Mutual in Murfreesboro and serves on the BRAA Board of Directors and the MT Young Alumni Board.

Burke is married to the former Jenna Capitena and they have a son, Declan. Jenna is also a 2007 Middle Tennessee graduate and played soccer for the Blue Raiders.
