Car Stolen in Smithville - Located in Murfreesboro on Tuesday Morning

A car that was reported as “Stolen” by a disabled woman in Smithville has been recovered in Murfreesboro, according a MPD Police Incident Report. The 2012 Ford Fiesta was seen by Officer Johnson in the parking lot of a bank on Middle Tennessee Blvd. on Tuesday morning.

Officer Johnson reported, “I observed a vehicle in the parking lot with several people pacing back and forth in front of the business.” Johnson pulled into the parking lot to investigate and discovered the license plate on the Fiesta was previously reported as “Stolen” and did not belong with the car in question that was also reported as “Stolen.” In fact, the license plate was reported as being “Stolen” in Murfreesboro and the car was taken from DeKalb County.

DeKalb County authorities were notified and they made contact with the 66-year old owner of the car. Murfreesboro Police arrested 31-year old Robin Ann Baquedano and charged her with “Theft Over $10,000” and “Use of Stolen Plates.” She was booked under a $5,500 bond and will appear in court on April 4, 2014. So far, she has not been able to pay her bond.
