BREAKING NEWS: U.S. Missiles destroy key terrorist leader

November 20, 2008

U.S. missiles aimed at a terrorist hideout in Pakistan didn’t get al-Qaeda’s top dog, but they did eliminate one of his top lieutenants.A senior Pakistani security official said yesterday that the latest U.S. cross-border missile strike killed ABDULLAH AZAM AL-SAUDI, identified as one of al-Qaeda’s most important operatives.

According to the Pakistani official, al-Saudi coordinated, quote, “between Al-Qaeda and Taliban commanders on this side of the border, and [was] also involved in recruiting and training fighters.”

Besides his affiliation with OSAMA BIN LADEN’s organization, al-Saudi was believed to be part of the Taliban’s Supreme Council, headed by fugitive leader MULLAH MOHAMMAD OMAR.

Yesterday’s missile strike was supposedly the first outside of Pakistan’s restive North Waziristan region, which most Taliban and al-Qaeda operatives are allegedly using as a sanctuary.

While the Pakistani government has publicly condemned U.S. assaults as violations of it sovereignty, there is reportedly a tacit agreement between the two nations that allows the missile attacks to continue as long as ground troops are not involved.

Chancellor Corlew Rules Against County in Bible Park USA

October 20, 2008

Chancellor Bob Corlew has ruled the Rutherford County Commission should not have required a two-thirds vote on Bible Park zoning issue. The chancellor says the county didn’t certify the petitions, which they used to force a super-majority vote. The Shelton family owns the 240-acres of Blackman land in question and filed suit against the county claiming their rights to sell the property were violated.

You may recall the county commission voted in favor of the rezoning plan back in May by a 12-9 vote, but needed two more for a two-thirds majority vote. Developers for Bible Park USA have, in the meantime, worked out a deal to build in neighboring Lebanon.

Illegal immigrants taken through bombing range to get to US

September 12, 2008

image

A man pleaded guilty in San Diego Thursday to smuggling dozens of illegal immigrants per day from Mexico through a live bombing range in southern California.

Prosecutors say JAVIER SANCHEZ PERFINO admitted running a smuggling ring from 2003 to 2006 that brought people through the Chocolate Mountain Aerial Bombing and Gunnery Range. Authorities say his group smuggled 60 to 80 people a day and charged each person about 15 hundred dollars.

A spokesman for the U.S. Border Patrol says illegal immigrants are often brought through bombing ranges in the region because immigration authorities avoid them. The spokesman says no migrants have been reported killed by explosives at live bombing ranges.

Perfino is a Mexican citizen and a legal U.S. resident. He faces up to ten years in prison when he’s sentenced December 5th.
