Chamber's Barbara Wolke Chairs STT Congressional Summit

The 2018 Congressional Summit on Travel and Tourism produced by Southeast Tourism Society is scheduled for July 17-19 in Washington, D.C. Barbara Wolke, senior vice president of the Rutherford County Convention & Visitors Bureau, is serving as Tennessee's chair for this year's event.

The STS Congressional Summit on Travel and Tourism is an opportunity to connect federal policies to local communities and talk about tourism in the halls of Congress. Industry leaders engage with legislators to share the economic impact of tourism and to tell Tennessee's success stories.

Wolke has been involved in tourism for more than 35 years, of those years nearly 15 have been with the Rutherford County Convention and Visitors Bureau. "I am thrilled that Tennessee and our own Rutherford County continue to drive economic development through the continued growth in tourism," says Wolke. "I am honored to be involved with such an important event that supports our industry and look forward to the opportunity to share the importance of tourism with legislators."
