Charlie Louvin, Jr. Arrested for DUI

A member of a famous country music family has been arrested on DUI charges in Murfreesboro. Charlie Louvin Jr. was arrested for DUI by Murfreesboro Police last Thursday. He was taken into custody on I-24 after police received a call about the 61-year-old man reportedly staggering into a store on South Church Street and hitting a curb before getting onto the interstate. The officer who made the arrest reportd Louvin smelled of alcohol and had slurred speech and bloodshot eyes. He was arrested after failing a field sobriety test. It was the second DUI arrest for Louvin, who was also charged with possession of drug paraphernalia. He was also charged in 2009 in Coffee County for DUI. Louvin will be in General Sessions Court on August 25th after bonding out of the Rutherford County Adult Detention Center.
