It's beginning to look alot like Christmas, especially after Main Street's outstanding tree lighting on the historic Murfreesboro square Friday night (12/1/2017). The 50-degree temperature made it even better.
The east side of the courthouse was packed with excited youngsters awaiting the opportunity to see Santa. Favorite Yuletide songs, the lighting of the giant Christmas tree and more--made the evening special.
The 30-foot Christmas tree was donated by Elaine and Terry Skopiuk. It was the only tree in their yard when planted 18-years ago. In fact, the tree was gettng so large that it was crowding the house and the Skopiuk's were happy to donate the tree.
It was like a Norman Rockwell painting that came to life, as downtown merchants and restaurants greeted the crowds. The Palace Barber Shop's electric trains were a big attraction, along with youngsters being able to check out Murfreesboro Fire & Rescue's ladder truck.
