City School Board Close To Announcing Name of New Director

The sands in the Murfreesboro City School Board’s hour-glass are falling quickly, and at 7:30 this Thursday night (12/3/09) they make the decision known. WGNS News will be there, and will break into the MTSU ballgame with the announcement of the new city school director. In the meantime, the board has changed the interview times for the two finalists. Dr. Linda Gilbert’s interview was at 5:30 Tuesday evening (12/1/09). She is from Murfreesboro and was formerly with the city school system and currently is a professor in MTSU’s Department of Educational Leadership. On Wednesday evening (12/2/09) the board talks with Dr. Lela Bridges. She is presently the director of schools in Harvey, Illinois. That community has approximately 31,000 residents and is about 8-miles southwest of Chicago.
