On Tuesday (7/23/2013) Murfreesboro City Schools Director Linda Gilbert told the Murfreesboro Rotary Club that two of the city school system's "four values" are the most difficult. One is "truth" and the other is "focus first on children".

She explained that everything the system does is focused on helping the students, but really knowing if an area that is tweaked is having the desired results is an area of concern. That's where the real meaning of "truth" is difficult.

Dr. Giilbert was asked about "changes in education" . . .

Murfreesboro City Schools were established in 1891. There are approximately 7,000 students enrolled in the twelve schools of the city systems. They have a low pupil-teacher ratio: 18 students to 1 teacher in kindergarten through third grade, and 20 to 1 in the fourth through sixth grades.

The Murfreesboro Rotary Club was established in 1919, and meets at noon every Tuesday at the Stones River Country Club.
