Have you driven down Murfreesboro streets and noticed small blue markers, and wondered if the city was about to widen roads or marking underground utilities, or what? In reality, the City of Murfreesboro is serving notice to residents that "YOUR NEW WATER METER HAS BEEN INSTALLED!"

In smaller type under the bold headline, the city says, "This new meter is part of the installation of new Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) for the Murfreesboro Water and Sewer Department (MWSD)."

Since water was turned-off while the meter was installed, MWSD officials encourage those who have the blue markers to run the water for a few seconds to clear out the line.
