The pedestrian struck and fatally injured just before 10 p.m. Friday (7/21/17) on Nolensville Pike near Welshwood Drive is identified as Kris Hansen, 66, whose last known address was on 12th Avenue South.

The investigation shows that the driver of a 2001 Nissan Sentra, Jonathan M. Leaidicker, 26, of College Grove, Tennessee, was traveling south on Nolensville Pike when he struck Hansen, who was standing partially in the middle turn lane and one of the travel lanes. Leaidicker said that when he saw Hansen, he applied his brakes and swerved slightly, but could not avoid impact due to the traffic around him. It is believed that Hansen was walking from the westbound side of Nolensville Pike to the eastbound side to board an MTA bus that was at the bus stop.

There was no indication of impairment on the part of Leaidicker and no charges are anticipated against him. Leaidicker was issued a traffic citation because his insurance lapsed earlier this year.
