A first of its kind in the country community for homeless veterans is in the works here in Murfreesboro. Hope Farms Village could soon be in place of a mobile home park just off Memorial on Cedar View Drive. That's across the street from Family Worship Center.

Matthew O'Dell with the Reveille Joe Foundation and host of Veterans Impact on NewsRadio WGNS says it's very much needed in our community...

O'Dell says veterans have a lot to give to the community...

The location is within walking distance to the VA Medical Center in Murfreesboro. The owner of the property, Tom Hyde and O'Dell are working with Mitchell and others to make this happen. The foundation would build very small homes - somewhere between three-to-four-hundred square feet - and sell them to veterans.

We've also learned the FYI cable television show "Tiny Home Nation" has stepped up to team up with veterans to build the homes. The process still has several development hurdles to go through before becoming a reality.
