Commuter rail lines likely to hit Nashville before Murfreesboro area

Long term, there is a possibility of a light rail commuter line between Rutherford and Davidson Counties. However, it would be in the far future. In Nashville, Mayor Megan Barry is behind an idea that would include 26 miles of a new light rail line. She also wants to develop a large bus service and a massive downtown tunnel that would allow the rail lines to quietly move under Nashville.

Keep in mind, Nashville already has the Music City Star commuter rail line between Lebanon and Nashville.
