Company Expanding in Smyrna, TN

Steel Technologies LLC (Steel Technologies) announced an 80,000 sq. ft. expansion to its new greenfield facility in Smyrna, TN. The expansion will house coil-fed laser blanking capabilities, the most advanced combination of coil-fed automation and high-speed laser cutting for surface-sensitive metal blanking. Upon completion, the $36.6 million facility will total 163,000 sq. ft. for steel and aluminum slitting, conventional configured blanking and coil-fed laser blanking.

This second phase expansion includes adding 80,000 sq. ft. and a dual-head laser-blanking line from LaserCoil Technologies that will be operational in the first quarter of 2018. "These capabilities will bring substantial flexibility and incredible value to our customer base," stated Randall Patterson, Vice President of U.S. Operations. "We have been working closely with customers in the region to expand our capabilities in line with their future needs."
