The International Association of Assessing Officers has nominated Rutherford County Property Assessor Rob Mitchell for the 2017 John C. Donehoo Award in Tennessee. The nomination comes after an article was submitted about an adequate funding formula for the Assessor's Offices in Tennessee.

Named after John C. Donehoo, The International Association of Assessing Officers first president, this award is presented to the author of an outstanding non-technical essay on assessment, property tax administration or tax policy.

Mitchell's article was titled "Proposed Model for Adequate Funding of Property Assessor's Offices in Tennessee."
