Rutherford County Trustee Teb Batey warns, "The new federal income tax law may affect the deductibility of your property tax payments beginning in 2018."

To make it convenient for residents, the Rutherford County Trustee's office will be open from 8:00 each morning until 4:30 in the afternoon through Friday December 29th to accept property tax payments.

The Trustee's website www.rctrustee.com is available 24/7 to accept payments. You may mail your taxes by December 31 to Rutherford County Trustee P.O. box 1316 Murfreesboro TN ,37133.

Batey notes, "If you regularly pay property taxes in January or February, you may want to consider paying by the end of the year. Consult your tax professional regarding your individual situation."
