A convicted sex offender has been sentenced to 20 additional years behind bars after allegedly molesting two 6-year old children this past December. You may recall in January Marcus Darnell Smartt, who was already behind bars after being convicted for the criminal attempt to commit the rape of a child in 2005, was indicted by a Grand Jury on two charges of aggravated sexual battery and solicitation of a minor.

The children that Smartt is accused of molesting this time around were only 6-years of age when the alleged abuse occurred. The two children have since moved out of state with their mother.

Darnell was previously jailed under a ten year sentence and was in a prison called the Turney Center Industrial Complex in Hickman County, Tennessee. He was transferred to the Rutherford County Adult Detention Center in February to appear before the courts to face the more recent charges from 2012.
