A convicted sex offender in Murfreesboro has been arrested after police found him to be within 1,000 feet of a school. A GPS ankle monitoring bracelet showed that he was only 439-feet away from Central Magnet School for approximately one hour. The GPS showed he was in the 600 block of Vine Street.

When the arresting officer made contact with 24-year old Anthony M. Carney, he was at a home in the Blackman area. Officers say he was alone in a room with juveniles.
