The Rutherford County Information Technology Department is playing a larger role in today's times within local government. I.T. Director Brian Robertson told WGNS they recently captured some excellent aerial video footage of a new addition at Blackman Middle School with a device called a “Quad-Copter...”

The Quad-Copter was under $500, but more sophisticated aerial remote control devices are available and could soon help the county in mapping, aerial surveys and more. Robertson told us the county is looking into the purchase of a $35,000 remote control plane.
