Crystal Meth and Over $30,000 in Cash Seized by Murfreesboro Gang, Vice and Narcotic Units

Over $30,000 in cash, 2 vehicles and an AR-15 were seized by Murfreesboro Police during a recent investigation. Sgt. Kyle Evans with the Murfreesboro Police Department also confirmed that a $1,200 Kimber handgun that was reported stolen in Nashville was also recovered in the incident.

Case details were released this week in regards to the investigation that led to arrests in mid-January of two Laotian men at 210 Battle Avenue. Arrested were 40 year old Prisa Chanthboun and 23 year old Chanthoumphone Katsana.

The Murfreesboro Gang, Vice and Narcotic Unit executed the search warrant at the Battle Avenue home on January 14, 2016. Outside the home is where Chanthaboun was found sitting in a parked pickup truck with a stolen .45 caliber handgun in his lap. Katsana was also in the truck with him when police arrived on at the house.

Inside the truck, detectives found a backpack containing three large vacuum sealed bags of marijuana, two digital scales, 37 grams of crystal meth and Xanax pills. Officers also located a felony amount of crystal meth rolled up in a one dollar bill inside a wallet belonging to Chanthoumphone.

Inside the home, police found an assault rifle and a small .380 pistol in the bedroom belonging to Chanthoumphone. Vice Units also located $34,223 in cash that was in the house.

The duo are now behind bars at the Rutherford County Adult Detention Center.

Chanthoumphone was charged with Felony Possession of a Schedule 2 Drug, Felony Possession of a Schedule 6 Drug, Theft over $1,000 and Possession of a Firearm in the Commission of a Felony.

Katsana was charged with Felony Possession of a Schedule 2 Drug and Possession of a Firearm in the Commission of a Felony .

The two men will appear in a Rutherford County Courtroom on March 3, 2016.
